ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sara Jamros was born in January of 1997 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. She is inspired primarily by figural work through a variety of media. She draws from artists both traditional and contemporary, such as Albrecht Durer, Caravaggio, Kathe Kollwitz, and John Currin. As a child, her interest in art began in museums around the world that she had the opportunity to visit, seeing prolific artists like these on display.
Sara's work aims to subvert our expectations of the mundane and familiar, and to challenge her viewer to confront topics that are typically seen as shameful or taboo.

She received her BFA from liberal arts college St. Olaf in May of 2019. Her time at St. Olaf allowed her to develop skills across a broad selection of media including drawing, painting, printmaking (mono, relief, litho, intaglio), woodworking, metalworking, 3D modeling, photo editing, 2D animation, ceramics, and soft sculpture.
Sara has been exhibited several times in the annual St. Olaf juried show, and for the St. Olaf Senior Art Show in spring of 2019 as part of a cumulative, final, self-conducted capstone project.
